Story & Mission

Built out of necessity for precision vector art

How a custom game engine tool grew into a standalone, browser-based CAD & vector editor.

The Origin Story

Hi! I'm Ernest (Ernie) Bausch, the independent developer behind EMP Softworks.

Anchorsmith originally started as a basic vector art and path tool for the engine I was developing. It eventually grew out of it and into it's own tool and became advanced enough that I thought it was worth putting out into the world for other designers, makers, indie developers and artists. It's a bit different from what's already out there and I believe that brings something valuable to the table. I do want people to be able to use it for free, forever, but I have my own costs and the world is on hard mode at the moment. Because of this, there is a paid tier available as well. The free version has almost complete feature parity, but if you really like it and use it a lot the pro account is available as well. This helps me to keep the lights on and consume a bit more coffee from day to day.

Community & Feedback

Any support is hugely appreciated! I want to hear any feedback on things that aren’t working correctly, might be breakable, or are just unintuitive.
